Athlete Fashion at the Australian Open

The collaborations between brands and tennis players at the Australian Open show how brands are evolving and investing in identity. With the main draw happening this Sunday, in this article we’ve highlighted the players and brand partnerships that The Plum Edit team will be keeping an eye on.

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Nike

The Australian Open will continue the rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner following their recent clash in Seoul.

Alcaraz is back on court in exclusive colourways that we will only see him wearing. Nike has designed custom sleeveless green shirts for Alcaraz’s day sessions, before he changes into a bolder design combining green, black, and white for night sessions. The colours are inspired by Melbourne’s beach and surf culture.

Sinner will also take to the court in personalised colourways. His Melbourne outfits continue to reflect his preference for clean, monochromatic designs: he will wear bright yellow for day sessions and switch to an olive green kit in the evening.

Aryna Sabalenka and Nike

Sabalenka is known for her powerful game and multiple Grand Slam titles; she has won four major singles championships and finished the 2025 season as the WTA World No. 1 for the second straight year, currently holding the top ranking and poised as one of the leading players on the tour in 2026.

Sabalenka is making headlines, not just as the No. 1 women’s single player, but with her on court choices. Debuting her new outfit on Instagram, Sabalenka confirmed her intentional references to outfits worn previously by Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. “It was a light peach dress, do you remember? That was my favourite one, I would love to bring that back,” (tennis.com)

As part of her collaboration with Nike, the NikeCourt Slam dress combines a scuba style with an asymmetric colour-block design. Debuting such an iconic piece, we’re excited to see what else she wears on court this month.

Emma Navarro and FP Movement

Navarro has quickly risen up the WTA rankings with strong all-court play, winning two WTA singles titles including the 2025 Mérida Open and reaching the semifinals of the 2024 US Open.

Following her previous signing with Fila, Navarro is heading into The Australian Open with new designs from FP Movement, Free People’s activewear brand.

As part of her new contract, Navarro is most excited by the opportunity to customise her outfits to show more of her personality and style. “I’ll be wearing outfits that I worked on designing — outfits that I’m really excited to wear and feel like myself in” (Vogue)

This collaboration also gives you the chance to wear some of the clothing you’ll see on the courts, as FP Movement is releasing two tennis styles to match Navarro’s on court outfits: The Crossover Set and the Comeback set.

Jaqueline Cristian, Fila

Cristian has had a steady rise on the WTA Tour, winning a WTA 125 title in Puerto Vallarta, achieving a career-high singles ranking inside the top 40; as of early 2026 she is ranked around No. 38 in the world.

Cristian makes her debut in Melbourne as part of FILA’s growing roster of emerging female stars. Speaking of the partnership, “We are thrilled to welcome Jaqueline to the FILA family as we continue our legacy of sponsoring champions on and off the court. She has demonstrated her capability to compete at the highest level, highlighted by a breakthrough 2025 season and we look forward to supporting her as she continues to grow, achieve new milestones, and inspire the next generation of tennis players.” (Kevin Yoon, Misto Holdings)

Cristian has been seen on Instagram sporting FILA designs and is noted to be wearing FILA’s newest tennis collection and the Axilus 3 Energized sneakers. (hypebae.com)

Alex Eala, Nike

Eala is a rising Filipino professional tennis player known for her aggressive left-handed baseline game. As of January 2026, Eala is ranked world No. 49 in the WTA singles rankings, which is her career-high and makes her the highest-ranked Filipino player in history.

Eala uses her partnership with Nike to co-create outfits that are inspired by her Filipino heritage. Eala’s focus on creating culturally resonant products and her previous collaboration shoots with Nike have us excited for the potential of her on court outfits.

As The Australian Open unfolds, these partnerships show how on-court style is reshaping to focus on reflecting a player’s personality as much as athletic excellence. We’ll be watching how the tournament continues, not just to enjoy the matches but to see how the evolution of fashion on the court continues to shape the future of tennis style.
