Tressé is a French brand that focuses on intentionality in an era of hyper-speed retail. Established in 2020, the brand builds the theme of their collections around specific destinations. Often using natural fibers like linen, cotton, silk, and cashmere the pieces in their collections are specifically designed with silhouettes that will remain relevant for years, not just one season.
The brand is run by Ketzia and Sivan Chétrite, whose French roots have influenced their desire to export Art De Vive to a global audience.
Ketzia and Sivan clearly express their desire to produce less, and better. Their values of authenticity, transmission and conviviality are reflected in their slow approach to fashion.
The philosophy of the brand revolves around the idea of each collection being a “suitcase”, which combines fashion and decoration that take inspiration from cultural inspiration and local craftsmanship. Their collections are designed with obvious intent and result in pieces that you will want to pull out of your wardrobe each time the sun peaks out.
The aesthetic of the brand is heavily influenced by its namesake. Tressé means braided or woven in French. It is most obviously featured as part of their signature braided leather bag handles.
If you're as much of a fan as we are here at The Plum Edit, and you want more of Tressé’s vibrant energy, they also have a homeware collection. Reflecting the ethos of their clothing, their artisanal homeware focuses on limited-edition pieces, continuing a desire for quality and sustainability.
Tressé's newest collection, Suitcase Do Brazil, is inspired by a combination of Rio de Janeiro’s tropical softness and Brazilian brutalist architecture. Some of our favourite pieces from this vacation-ready collection include their polka dot dresses and crochet knitwear, perfect for spending time in the sun.
We’ve absolutely in love with the details of these pieces, we can just imagine how the gold adornment catches the sunlight. There’s even a story behind the colour palettes for each release of the collection, starting with the first release that uses neutral tones punctuated with greens and blues. Later on, the colour intensifies to reflect the richness of Amazonian essences. These details reveal how much attention and care goes into the design of each piece.
Here’s some of our favourite pieces to get you excited for your next holiday.
