Belgravia’s Best Kept Secret

A Trip to Elizabeth Street, Where Heritage Meets Modern Luxury

By Hannah Ashdown | May 06, 2026

Hidden in Belgravia, you’ll find this iconic slice of London, just a short stroll from Chelsea, where you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported into a village atmosphere.

The idyllic setting makes for the perfect shopping trip, offering a more intimate and curated experience compared to the grander thoroughfares of King’s Road or Sloane Street.

The architecture of the street is a masterclass in Late Georgian and early Victorian design, characterised by a warmer palette of classic London stock brick paired with ornate painted shopfronts.

Shopping here is defined by discreet luxury. You won’t find global fast-fashion brands; instead, the street is home to heritage boutiques and artisanal specialists. This week, The Plum Edit team stopped by to feature a few of the shops you can find along the street.

Watch the full video here, and shop our favourites below.

Summerill & Bishop

Summerill & Bishop is a cornerstone of the street’s curated shopping scene. While many shops in the area focus on fashion or flowers, this boutique celebrates the art of the table.

Founded in 1994, the brand is renowned globally for its artistic tablecloths, designed with bold patterns that encourage a return to the kitchen as the heart of the home. Their designs range from classic French stripes to avant-garde pieces, all certain to add personality to your tablescape.

Alongside the hand-painted linens, you’ll also find glassware, handcrafted ceramics and kitchen tools, all sourced from artisans.

Here are some of the pieces we wanted to take home with us.

NRBY

NRBY brings a contemporary, effortless energy that feels perfectly at home within its historic surroundings.

The brand, founded in 2019 by Jo Hooper, focuses exclusively on natural fabrics and noble fibres such as silk, linen, cashmere and cotton.

The ethos of the brand stems from Hooper’s interest in the Japanese concept of one-mile wear, which led them to create colourful designs that can be worn comfortably at home whilst also being sophisticated enough to take you a mile down the road.

The result is a collection of essential wardrobe pieces that are both versatile and comfortable.

Here are some of our favourites from the newest collection.

ME+EM

ME+EM is a definitive destination along the historic Belgravia stretch. While the brand has grown into a global powerhouse, its Elizabeth Street boutique remains one of its most intimate and quintessential locations.

Built on the principle that women shouldn’t have to choose between pieces that are only fashionable, functional or flattering, the brand has become a uniform for the modern, busy London woman.

The shop itself occupies a classic mid-19th-century storefront, featuring signature tall, slender windows often filled with displays that reflect the brand’s quiet luxury.
