The Perfect Bag for Your Winter Wardrobe

Exploring Polène’s Regent Street Store: The New Merino Wool Bag Collection, Sculptural Jewellery, and Sustainable Retail Design

By Hannah Ashdown | February 05, 2026

Polène first arrived on the viral trend radar two years ago with Numero Un Nano, Numero Dix and Cymo tote, and whilst these bags remain loved staples in our wardrobes, we couldn’t miss an opportunity to try on the new designs.

Released in late 2025, The Merino Collection features bags crafted from 100% Merino wool - perfect for matching our winter outfits. "A true feat of artisanship, the Mérinos edition brings traditional knitting techniques to leatherworking. This winter redesign explores the boundaries between different crafts." (Polène)

The choice of Merino wool was excellent for bags that both look and feel luxurious. If you’ve got your eye on one for Christmas, you better head to the Polène store ASAP.

Numéro Neuf Large

Edition Merino Ecru, £520

The Numéro Neuf is famous for its draped, organic shape, but dressed in creamy Merino wool, it takes on an entirely new level of tactile elegance. Blending soft wool panels with smooth leather trim, this roomier handbag offers plenty of space for daily essentials whilst maintaining its soft, sculptural form. It is an effortless choice for elevated casual wear.

Cyme Mini

Edition Merino Ecru, £590

A compact version of Polène’s celebrated tote, the Cyme Mini offers versatile carrying options thanks to its convertible sides. In the Merino Ecru finish, the subtle contrast between the plush wool body and structured leather handles gives a nodding gesture to high-end winter resort fashion.

The store is as thoughtfully crafted as the bags themselves. Designed by WGNB and Alma Studio, the shop recycles its offcuts of leather seamlessly in a way that enhances the brand identity, and our shopping experience.

The leather is upcycled and repurposed from the manufacturing process and has been used to decorate the tills, the walls, and even the handrails. Polène’s choice of soft brutalism for the retail environment compliments the organic shape of its bags.

Downstairs, the offcut leather has been compressed into the bricks that line the wall. You are then led upstairs by a handrail which is handcrafted with 72 straps of leather.

The upstairs table is made with the same compression technique as the walls and uses a steel skeleton to create a suspended illusion. The innovative techniques of the interior design reflect Polène’s mastery of leather.

Polène’s attention to these details in the design clearly show their understanding of using the retail space to create an immersive experience of the brand.

At the Regent Street store, Polène also stocks its full jewellery range. In a dedicated space upstairs, you can take your time browsing the popular Éole, Eroz, and the newer Ormé collection which intertwines both leather and metal to create fluid shapes.

Our favourites include the Ormé Cuff which gracefully wraps around the wrist and the Ormé Earrings which are perfect for creating a modern, minimalist look.
